Jordan Spieth Follows Up His First Round 64 With A Second Round 66 And This Is Officially Historic

Not even sure what to say about what Jordan Spieth is doing to Augusta through these first two rounds but I know it’s AWESOME.  His -14 through the first 36 holes is a Masters record (it also ties the all-time 36 hole record in a major).  15 birdies and just a single bogey.  The dude is destroying the course, the competition and everything else.  His first round 64 was great but you just never know how somebody is gonna follow up a round like that.  Especially in a major and especially since Spieth is 21 years old and playing in only his second Masters ever.  Well, I’d say he handled it pretty well by following it up with a 66 and putting himself at -14 for the tournament.  Sprinting away from the field and not looking back.  The only dude who is even within striking distance is Charley Hoffman at -10 which is damn impressive for Hoffman.  You almost feel bad for Charley.  He’s playing lights out in a major and he probably expects to have the lead.  Too bad there’s a bad man named Spieth playing too.  I’ll say it again like I said yesterday, shooting a 64 and now a 66 is a great way to start your quest for a green jacket, a historic effort, still a lot of tournament to be played though.  Rory collapsed a few years back so it can happen to anyone.  I’m just excited to watch it all unfold (or whatever parts they allow us to watch).

George Costanza needs to have the, “Live, damn it! Live!” hair talk with Spieh.  Maybe his only weakness at this point.

PS- I’ve already seen people on Twitter saying, “Well this makes the weekend a whole hell of a lot less fun.”  People are amazing.  It’s increible how quickly they can take something as awesome as Spieth dominating and looking for the negative in it.  We’re seeing something unheard of.  Sit back and enjoy it.
